Track and field athletes headed to Mississauga for OFSAA

Kara Blair and Alex Ethier are OFSAA bound.
On Friday, Rideau District High School was well represented at the East Regional track and field meet in Ottawa with the two RDHS Lions earning a trip to Mississauga June 5-7.
Kara Blair was no stranger to this level of competition, and after struggling with her footing in the long jump, she confidently jumped her way into a third place – a top four finish gets you to the all Ontario championships.
Alex Ethier advanced to the finals in sprint hurdles and the 100m, placing second and fifth respectively, earning the tip to OFSAA for her hurdles finish.
Robyn Gray, Ian Sly and the junior girls relay team did not advance to OFSAA, but displayed true competitive spirit all season.
Also going to Mississauga this week is Sydenham student Ben Trickey  of Bedford Mills who placed fourth in the senior 400m
St. John Catholic High School’s Braiden Nichols is making the trip to the all-Ontario’s after coming in first in women’s midget shot put and third in the discus.
